Scenic Celebration Meeting Planned ~From Warren Alford
Arnold, CA- Interested members of the community are invited to a planning meeting for the 3rd Annual Scenic Celebration of the Ebbetts Pass National Scenic Byway. The 2009 Scenic Celebration is scheduled for Saturday, September 12, 2009. The planning meeting will be held this Wednesday, April 8th at 6pm at the Round Table Pizza Parlor in Arnold....
The Scenic Celebration event highlights the scenic wonders of the Ebbetts Pass National Scenic Byway. The Ebbetts Pass National Scenic Byway is one of the most scenic drives across California’s Sierra Nevada Mountains and is one of just seven nationally recognized Byways in California.
This year’s event planning will include developing a theme for the Celebration, identifying event venues, developing a budget and outreach strategy and creating a promotional plan to expand the success of the event.
Now in its third year, the Byway event is becoming an exciting annual attraction. Last year’s event had eight passport venues which were at Sarafina’s Italian Kitchen in Arnold, Calaveras Big Trees State Park, The Dorrington Hotel, the Camp Connell General Store, Bear Valley Village, Lake Alpine Resort, Hermit Valley and Markleeville.
The Ebbetts Pass Scenic Byway Association formed in 2006 as a non-profit corporation to preserve the unique scenic, natural, historic, cultural, archaeological and recreational resources of the Ebbetts Pass National Scenic Byway and to enhance the quality of the travel experience along one of the last surviving wild Trans-Sierra routes.
Through the spirited partnership of individuals, businesses, organizations and agencies, the Ebbetts Pass Scenic Byway Association coordinates and implements preservation, enhancement and marketing projects consistent with the goals of the Ebbetts Pass Corridor Management Plan and is dedicated to maintaining the byway's integrity.
