CHP San Andreas Switching to Longer Shifts

San Andreas, CA...The California Highway Patrol San Andreas Area will be switching to 12 hour shifts for patrol officers beginning April 1st, "Converting to 12 hour shifts for patrol officers should decrease total overtime hours and will allow for more officers working the beat" said Lt. Tim Port, Commander of the San Andreas Area...

Approximately 80% of the 102 CHP offices throughout the state have switched to the popular 12 hour shift. Having set days off and more consecutive days off in a row was favored by officers who voted for the change. The San Andreas Area currently had 13 officers assigned to road patrol
