Volunteers Needed to Make Murphys Irish Day a Success!
Murphys, CA....It takes over 90 volunteers to make Murphys Irish Day a success and the Murphys Business Association (MBA) is actively seeking men and women who would like to be an integral part of one of the Mother Lode’s premiere events. This year’s festival will be Saturday, March 21...

“We need 63 people who will be stationed at the entrances to Main Street to welcome the celebration attendees, to answer their questions, and to give them directions,” states MBA Vice-President Patty Schulz who is heading up the recruitment effort. “In addition we need people to check in volunteers, sign out walkie-talkies, sell raffle tickets, staff the MBA beer booth, and help with the parade.”
Shifts are 90 minutes, with the earliest starting at 5:45 a.m. and the latest from 4:30 to 6 p.m.
“Many of our volunteers serve from year to year, but we are always looking for new people to join the team,” says Schulz. “This year, as a sign of our appreciation, we are going to give each volunteer a raffle ticket so they will be among those hoping to win a trip to Ireland or one of the other exciting prizes.”
Anyone wishing to take part can call Patty Schulz at 728-3753.
Murphys Irish Day is presented each year by the Murphys Business Association with proceeds making it possible for the association to fulfill its goals of sponsoring projects that enhance the community and beautify the business district.
