Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr's. "I Have A Dream" Speech As Delivered August 28, 1963

Posted by: thepinetree on 01/21/2019 07:52 AM
Washington, DC...As we celebrate Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr's. federal holiday we thought it was appropriate to share with you his iconic "I Have A Dream" speech. It was delivered on August 28, 1963. We have the full text of the speech and video as well. "I Have a Dream" Speech Text.....I am happy to join with you today in what will go down in history as the greatest demonstration for freedom in the history of our nation. Five score years ago, a great American, in whose symbolic shadow we stand today, signed the Emancipation Proclamation. This momentous decree came as a great beacon light of hope to millions of Negro slaves who had been seared in the flames of withering injustice. It came as a joyous daybreak to end the long night of their captivity......

President Trump at a Naturalization Ceremony

Washington, DC...I might begin my saying that, to the best of our knowledge — it goes back a long way — this is the first such swearing-in that we’ve ever had in the great Oval Office. So that’s a pretty big honor right there. That’s pretty good. Now, they may find something back 100 years ago, I don’t know. But we looked and we couldn’t find it. So — Please, sit down. Please.

Hey Good People!! It’s Time For Some Skiing/Riding My Friends, Enjoy Some “Pure Mtn Fun”

Posted by: thepinetree on 01/20/2019 11:03 AM
Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! As the storm front moves onshore this morning we will see surface pressure gradients at their strongest during the initial arrival so winds will be in the upper 20’s sustained and gusts will reach into the 40’s. The windy conditions will last into the evening and subside Monday morning as the system heads East at that time. The focus will be the snowfall associated with this Pacific front as today we could see up to 16″ fall today and another 12-18″ tonight!!!!! The model runs are still wavering a bit so the totals could be a bit more for tonight. The snowfall elevations will start out a bit high near pass levels then drop by the afternoon to 6000′ and falling to 4000′ later tonight. Monday the trough will sit over the Great Basin so a few inside sliders may produce but that chance is relatively small at this time. This is a classic January snowfall pattern for us and It’s time for some skiing/riding my friends so come on up and enjoy some “Pure Mtn Fun”.

The SNAC Family Thanks You for Shopping & Renting Locally!

Posted by: thepinetree on 01/18/2019 08:49 AM
Arnold, Murphys & Sonora, CA...The SNAC Family Thanks You for Shopping Locally! Back in the early 90’s, when Shawn was selling out of the back of his truck as “The Eddy Mart”, the most important items to have on hand were life jackets, river shorts, sandals and river knives. Oh yes, and a few things the rafting customers would want, t-shirts, hats, sunscreen, etc. It became obvious that The Eddy Mart was getting too big to operate out of a garage when the whitewater kayaks came. It was time for a storefront. That’s when providence arrived on the scene.

Hey Good People!! An Explosion of "Pure Mtn Fun" Today in Bear Valley! ~ Mattly Trent

Posted by: thepinetree on 01/19/2019 10:56 AM
Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! Warm air aloft has brought the temps up to 36F for the overnight low with lite mixed precipitation. Today we’ll see a partly sunny day with a high of 42F and a south wind up to 9mph. Tonight however we’ll see low pressure kick back in and a return of snowfall is slated for Sunday through Monday. Currently the model runs show 9-13″ of new snow during the day Sunday and 7-11″ Sunday night into Monday. Winds for this event will be in the 20’s to 30’s so redistribution of snow around the mountain can lend itself to drifting and pockets of deeper snowfall. By Tuesday high pressure will return and keep the forecast area dry and clear through the following weekend. This a classic January snowfall pattern for us and It’s time for some skiing/riding my friends so come on up and enjoy some “Pure Mtn Fun”.

President Donald J. Trump to Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi

Posted by: thepinetree on 01/17/2019 11:53 AM
Washington, DC...Dear Madame Speaker: Due to the Shutdown, I am sorry to inform you that your trip to Brussels, Egypt, and Afghanistan has been postponed. We will reschedule this seven-day excursion when the Shutdown is over. In light of the 800,000 great American workers not receiving pay, I am sure you would agree that postponing this public relations event is totally appropriate. I also feel that, during this period, it would be better if you were in Washington negotiating with me and joining the Strong Border Security movement to end the Shutdown. Obviously, if you would like to make your journey by flying commercial, that would certainly be your prerogative.

Hey Good People!! A Stellar MLK Weekend Awaits with Feet of New Snow! ~ Mattly Trent

Posted by: thepinetree on 01/17/2019 11:13 AM
Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! 22″ of new snow overnight! 41″ for the current storm total and well……….another possible 17-23″ is expected today. The overnight temps hovered right around 28F all night so snow fall elevations rose a bit but we should see that fall today to around 6-6500′. Max gusts last night at the Ski lodge were 29mph so quite a bit lower than the projected values. Winds today will be in the 20’s mostly with possible gusts into the mid 30’s and with the expected snowfall it’s sure to be a pow riding day. Tonight another 3-7″ is expected before the system tapers and bring a partly sunny day on Saturday and then another shot of snow for Sunday. High pressure ridging looks to return early next week and will be dry and above normal temps for that time frame. Drifting snow and bigger accumulations will be seen with redistribution on the micro and macro levels so inbounds resort skiing/riding can feel deeper in some areas than other through this cycle. This a classic January snowfall pattern for us and It’s time for some skiing/riding my friends so come on up and enjoy some “Pure Mtn Fun”.
