Bear Valley, CA....Hey Good People! 58" in the last week and well riding is exceptional with the continued cold temps on the backside of the recent storm system. Continued upper level low pressure will be in effect through the weekend and into Tuesday so expect snow showers to continue until that time. Today the high comes in around 25F with mostly sunny skies and East winds from 5-10mph. The second pulse of this low pressure system will arrive Sunday and drop snow levels down to a possible 1-2000' and 2-4" is expected for that system with snow ratios of 15:1 which equals super light density snowfall and we all know what that means.......Someone's been talking to Ullr............ Come up to Bear Valley and experience our local "Pure Mtn Fun" ethos and stay tuned..........
Angels Camp, CA...The Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee is set to hold two new Stampede events during the 2017 fair. In addition to the events held last year, Three Man Cattle Penning has returned along with Ranch Roping. Those interested in participating must be residents of Calaveras, Amador, Tuolumne, or Alpine county. Out of area riders may participate if their team is made up of 50 percent Calaveras residents or producers.

Arnold, CA...Dave Baugher, our Director of Attendance, will be our speaker on March 21. He will be sharing with us his experiences while hiking the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT). Dave began his journey at the Mexico border and will continue his trek northward toward the Canadian Border this year. Dave is hiking the trail in sections and will spread his hike over time.

Valley Springs, CA...Margaret Louise Benfante, born July 30, 1947, in Bremerton, Washington, died at the age 69 years old, 3371 Brooks Lane Valley Springs, CA on January 17, 2017 from Metastatic Breast Cancer. After 31 years of working, Maggie retired in 2013 from her job as an electro/mechanical drafter and technical illustrator. Maggie held a degree in Technical Illustration with a certificate in drafting. At the age of nine, drawing horses became a substitute for not having a horse of her own. Following the drawing of horses, she began painting them oil on canvas. In 2009 she began fulfilling her lifelong dream of casting bronze.
