Meet Shadow and Buster! Calaveras County Animal Services Pets of the Week

Posted by: thepinetree on 02/20/2020 10:25 PM
San Andreas, CA...Meet Shadow and Buster, a bonded pair of eight-year old brothers. Both shorthaired, Shadow is the all black and Buster the black and white. They have never been outdoors or apart and for their own well being, it’s important they be adopted together. These handsome boys arrived at the shelter because their owner passed and no family member was able to care for them. Understandably stressed after losing their human momma, their world was turned upside down. Friendly and sweet though on the shy side after all they’ve been through, both have made tremendous progress with the patience of shelter staff and volunteers. These precious kitties will need a calm home with a cat-savvy person who can provide consistent love and attention, allowing them time to adjust and become truly contented kitties once again.

Hey Good People!! Hero Groomers & Perfect Time to Learn!! ~ Mattly Trent

Posted by: thepinetree on 02/20/2020 02:29 PM
Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! Dry weather will continue today with a projected high of 44F and lite ESE winds up to 10mph. Beautiful weather is in order for the weekend then a weak short wave moves over the area Late Sunday but at this time looks to stay mainly north of I-80. Another short wave arrives Wednesday and will bring some breezy conditions typical of inside slider activity. Mostly dry weather is expected for the next 2 weeks. Copious Snowfall will return Good People, sometimes we just have to wait it out a little longer than other times. The good thing is we have a great base with exceptional grooming and the off-piste riding around the resort is steering its way towards spring like conditions which if you are not in the know, are some of the best times to learn to ski & ride. It’s a great time to get your riding game on so don’t forget to check out our Lifts and Trails page Daily for projected operations. Check out our “Pure Mtn Fun” as we have lots of it going on!

Washington, DC...In the long record of American heroism in combat, few episodes capture the indomitable will and the stouthearted spirit of the American warrior better than the triumphs on the island of Iwo Jima in early 1945. Seventy-five years later, we pay tribute to the immeasurable sacrifice of those killed in action on Iwo Jima, and we honor the heroic efforts of all who took part in one of the most costly and significant battles in our country’s history.

Sender's Market Has A Great New Kitchen & Gift Sections!

Posted by: thepinetree on 02/20/2020 01:33 PM
Mountain Ranch, CA...We are really excited about our new Kitchen and Gift sections. We really want our community to know that we have these great items available. We are continuously adding new items. Thank you. In 1950, we started out as a family operation with Erich’s father and mother, August and Freida Sender, in a century-old adobe building. The upstairs was home to the Sender family, and the first floor included groceries, a meat market, a bar, and a small eating place called Opa’s Smokehouse. On Christmas morning in 1968, the old store was destroyed by fire. But in June 1969, Sender’s Market, Inc. was opened. Since that time, there have been many changes, including remodeling, expansion, and the addition of many employees. That’s also when we added the truss plant and purchased Sender’s Market Ace Hardware in Valley Springs. Today, we're still family owned and still working hard to stock everything from pantry essentials to power tools. Whether you've got questions about the perfect cut of meat or the right kind of paint, our helpful, knowledgeable staff has you covered.
