Lucas Nathaniel Bur August 23, 1986 – July 25, 2017

Rail Road Flat, CA...Lucas Nathaniel Bur was born August 23, 1986 at Jackson, CA. He was 30 years old. He grew up in Railroad Flat, CA, and had returned and lived there again for the last two years of his life. Lucas found his longed-for peace on July 25, 2017, in the National Forest in Calaveras County, CA., after 20 years of quietly battling depression.

He graduated from Mountain Oaks School in San Andreas, and went to Columbia College in Tuolumne County, as well as Santa Rosa Junior College.

Lucas held a Class A driver’s license, but was currently employed by the Family Business, Twinkle Window Cleaning. He was also an avid gardener.

Lucas loved shooting sports and edged weapons, but his passion was humor, keeping his family and friends laughing and shaking their heads at his raw wit.

Lucas is survived by his parents, Vicki Lee Bur (Jensen) and Scott Allen Bur, his two older brothers, Nicholas Scott & Cameron Michael Bur, and his beloved dog and sidekick, Kiddo. His absence will also be felt by his cousins Mike, Don, Jeanni, Sean, Patrick, Bridgette, Joe, Kaitlin, his Uncle Dave and Aunts Debbie and Nancy, and friends and family too numerous to mention. All will miss his wonderfully irreverent sense of humor.

A Celebration of Lucas’ life will be held Saturday, August 19, 2017 at noon at the Mountain Ranch Community Club, 8049 Washington Street, Mountain Ranch, CA 95246.

Memorial Contribution can be made in his name to the Mountain Ranch Park, PO Box 165, Mountain Ranch, CA 95246.

Luke left behind a legacy of love, laughter, caring, compassion, thoughtfulness, strength, and bravery. He fought his entire adult life against the darkness of depression, and stayed with us much longer than he would have, had he been a selfish person. His love for his family gave him strength.
He lived honorably, and he died bravely.
