Calaveras County Opens Warming Centers & Shelter Locations
San Andreas, CA...Due to extreme cold and the risk to the public, Calaveras County announces the opening of Warming Centers in Arnold, West Point, and Murphys with a Shelter location in Murphys. All sites will be open from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday evening.

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for Calaveras County from 10 am today to 4 pm Wednesday, December 29. A Winter Storm Warning for snow means there will be snow covered roads and limited visibility. Travel is not recommended while the warning is in effect. Snow is expected to redevelop over the area this afternoon with new snow accumulations up to an inch or two. Periods of heavy snow are expected later tonight and Wednesday with accumulations from 4 to 8 inches.

Calaveras County Office of Emergency Services (OES) is working with operational partners throughout the county to clear roads, and restore power.
Mountain Impact:
• Dangerous travel conditions
• Extended travel delays and chain controls likely with road closures
• Significant reduction in visibility at time from blowing snow
Calaveras County Road Information:
Calaveras County Public Works Department has snow removal crews working around the clock on County maintained roads, while Caltrans continues to work clearing the State Highways.
As of 3 pm road closures due to down power lines and trees include:
East Murray Creek to Rail Road Flat Road
Lower Moran Road, Arnold
o Lightning Lane to Love Creek Road
o Segale Drive to Lightning Lane
Calaveras Transit Agency will be available to assist the community with Dial-A-Ride services for those that may need transportation. More information can be found on their website at Direct Connect Dial-a-Ride – Calaveras Connect. For assistance with transportation, call Calaveras Connect at (209) 754-4450.
