First Annual Spring Fling Sidewalk Sale ~By Hanna Heath
Angels Camp, CA...SHOPPING! The Angels Camp Business Association presented their first annual "Spring Fling Sidewalk Sale." The sale took place along the entire length of Main Street, Angels Camp, 9am-5pm. Green, Yellow, and Purple Balloons lined the streets signaling the participating merchants. Many business provided refreshments, food, and entertainment including hot dogs, popcorn, Mexican tamales, and a homemade bake sale.....
   
At 11am the Angels Camp Marshal Arts Group performed a routine and Vocalist Harry Jordan from Ione performed a beautiful solo. “This is my second year participating in one of the sidewalk sales, and I enjoy every minute. We always have people smiling and dancing in the streets,” shared Harry Jordan. There was also karaoke set up for the community outside of Vintage Reality.
“We participate in this event, because it allows local business to be involved with the community,” sated owner of the clothing boutique Joni Maraspini.
Between 30-40 local businesses participated in the sale. Sales ranged from 10%-50% off marked merchandise. “We wanted to crate an event during the spring because of the weather and blooms, and to showcase our landscaping project in down town Angels Camp,” shared event coordinator Theresa Douglas.
All of the business got to participate for FREE and were not charged an entry fee. “This is a wonderful service that The Angels Camp Business Association provides to the local businesses in Angels Camp,” shared Theresa.
The day was full of great bargains, entertainment, food and fun.
