What’s Happening in Murphys this Week –November 1, 2017 through November 9, 2017

Murphys, CA...Try out the Saturday Hopper bus service running between Valley Springs and Arnold with stops in Murphys. Enjoy the Day of the Dead activities and leave the driving to Calaveras Transit! Saturdays in Murphys - Walking Tours of Historic Downtown Murphys are available at no charge (donations gratefully accepted) on Saturday mornings at 10am leaving from the Old Timers Museum. Please contact Jo Sanders at 209-728-3072 to confirm dates and times or make arrangements for large groups. November 1, 2017 – Nicholas Lefler at Rob’s Place - Enjoy the music of Nicholas Leffler along with dinner or appetizers every Wednesday from 6-8pm May through September at Rob's Place. Call 209-813-7003 for reservations.




November 2, 2017 – Karaoke Thursday at Murphys Historic Hotel – Every Thursday at 9pm in the Saloon.

November 3, 2017 – Fridays at Alchemy – Matt Cullen delivers style with pop, country and jazz vocal performances every Friday on the patio from 5:30-8 pm. Call 209-728-0700 for reservations.

November 3, 2017 – Wine Down Friday at Stevenot Tasting Room – Live music by Blu’Cidity, wine by the glass and appetizers from 5:30-8pm.
– Come celebrate the Day of the Dead in the Land of the Skulls – Take our self-guided tour of the Ofrendas, enjoy traditional music, food and vendors in the Park, compete in the Catrina Contest and take part in the Procession. Grab your raffle tickets early and win a trip with Half Ass Adventures and their miniature donkeys to wine taste in the Sierra next summer!
In the event of rain, all Park activities will move to the Native Sons Hall and there will be no Procession to the Cemetery.

November 4, 2017 – Risky Biscuits at The Lucky Penny – The music starts at 9pm.

November 5, 2017 - BROADWAY MUSICALS FEATURED IN CALAVERAS COMMUNITY BAND CONCERT - The uplifting songs from some of America’s favorite Broadway musicals will be featured when the Calaveras Community Band presents its annual Fall Concert on Sunday, at 3 pm in the Dr. Elliot A. Smart Performing Arts Center at Bret Harte High School in Angels Camp. For information, contact Carol Betz, 209-728-9057.

November 13, 2017 – Live Music Mondays at Rob’s Place – Nate the Experimentalist will be playing every other Monday through Christmas.

The Calaveras Business Resource Center is an official drop off location for Toys for Tots! Bring a new unwrapped toy or book for local children! 7 Main Street, San Andreas 209-754-5400. – Come for the parade and stay to shop, visit with neighbors and share your secret wishes with Santa. Main Street will be closed to traffic so the whole family can enjoy the carolers and firepits – Celebrate Murphys Irish Heritage with us on St. Patrick’s Day 2017 – Parade, Vendors, All Day Live Entertainment and all the tasting, shopping and small-town fun that Murphys has to offer!
