Traffic Signal Work State Route 26 (SR-26) from Gee Lane to County View Drive

Calaveras County – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform one-way traffic control on eastbound and westbound State Route 26 (SR-26) from Gee Lane to County View Drive for traffic signal work. Work will begin Sunday, June 11, 2017, through Friday, June 16, 2017, from 7:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m. Motorists should expect 10-minute delays. Alternate routes should be taken whenever possible.

This work is scheduled to begin as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment and/or materials and construction related issues.

The work at this location is part of a project that will install a traffic signal and widen the intersection of Vista del Lago and SR-26 near Valley Springs. Key elements of the project include:
installation of a four-way stoplight with protective turn lights for motorists turning left onto Vista del Lago;
lengthening of existing left-turn lanes;
widening of the roadway and intersection to accommodate commercial vehicles;

improving the efficiency of travel and traffic safety at this intersection to reduce the likelihood of broad-side collisions.

The project is scheduled to be completed in August 2017. This $1.4 million project has been awarded to George Reed, Inc.
Work is scheduled to begin as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment and/or materials and construction related issues.
