Win A Trip To Fiji At “THE PARTY” Mentoring Fundraiser Set for Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Dove Hill Ranch in Angels Camp

Angels Camp, CA...Imagine experiencing a guided O.A.R.S. adventure down a river framed by 150-foot shear canyon walls and countless waterfalls in the lush Fijian Highlands. Now imagine you are lucky enough to win this trip just by purchasing a $100 key to the Treasure Chest at THE PARTY to support the Calaveras Youth Mentoring Program! This once-in-a-lifetime adventure for two includes a $2500 travel allowance, making it an $8,300 value. Only 125 keys are available at CalaverasMentoringFoundation.org (NO "www").

The eight-day "Highlands to Islands: Ultimate Fiji Explorer" with O.A.R.S. is one of National Geographic Traveler's "50 Tours of a Lifetime." From your beachfront resort, the adventure includes Class II-III whitewater rafting through a narrow canyon with dozens of cascading waterfalls; soaring over the rainforests on a zip-line canopy tour; sea kayaking on Beqa Lagoon; and snorkeling in kaleidoscopic reefs.

This unique community-based eco-tourism program on the Fijian Island of Viti Levu was made possible by O.A.R.S. President and Founder George Wendt, who was also a passionate advocate for youth mentoring in Calaveras County. In 1998, O.A.R.S. worked with native landowners to set up low-impact commercial whitewater rafting trips on the Upper Navua River in Fiji. Two years later, the land on both sides of the river was designated as a conservation area with a 25-year lease that prohibits logging, road building or mining in the fragile river corridor. All guides are native Fijian, hired locally, with a stake in the long-term sustainability of the region and to date, the indigenous community has earned more than $1,000,000 through lease payments, trip fees, guide pay and related financial contributions.

Keys are now available online and if not sold out, will also be available at THE PARTY on June 10, 2017 at Dove Hill Ranch, 3874 Highway 49, Angels Camp.
Tickets to THE PARTY are $75 per person until May 15 and $100 per person after May 15, available at CalaverasMentoringFoundation.org (NO "www") or by contacting the Calaveras Mentoring Foundation at 209-736-7706 or calaverasmentoringfoundation@gmail.com. "THE PARTY" will feature a steak-in-a-barrel and pasta dinner, a huge silent auction, and dancing to Bay Area dance band The Groove Doctors.

All sponsors of "THE PARTY" receive reserved seating. Information about sponsorship is available by contacting Donna R. Shannon, sponsorship coordinator, at 209-754-4997.
