Nancy Tidwell 1940 - 2017

Murphys, CA...Former Forest Meadows resident, Mrs. Nancy Tidwell, 76, has gone on to be with her Lord on May 12, 2017 after an extensive battle with Multiple Myeloma. Nancy was born on August 13, 1940 in Sunnyside, Utah and was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, William I Tidwell, and her parents Leonard and Ethel Dattke. Nancy is survived by her four sons; Stephen, Corey (Robyn), Craig, and James (Judy). She also leaves behind four grandchildren; Joshua, Malia (Patrick), Benjamin, and Nathan and her siblings La Nore, Joyce, Brent, La Rue and Michael. She was a second mother to her niece Christie, who spent much of her childhood at the Tidwell household. She was a wonderful Aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.

At the time of her death, Nancy was a resident of Pleasanton, Ca and she also lived in Castro Valley, Hayward, Fremont, Yorba Linda, Phoenix, Murphys , and Oveido, Fl.

Nancy was a wonderful wife mother, and grandmother as well as a great cook and baker, making numerous wedding cakes for family and friends throughout the years. She was a consummate caretaker, always cleaning, fixing, or making something. You could not say no when Nancy offered you a piece of homemade pie or German Chocolate cake. While raising her four sons, Nancy was a Den Mother for the cub scouts, pack 842 in Hayward and was also active in her children’s schools and sporting activities. Nancy was a homemaker by trade, but also had a long career working for U-Haul in Fremont, Southern California, and Phoenix.

After retirement, Nancy resumed her passion for painting and created numerous works of art including greeting cards that are cherished by all who received them. She and her husband Bill enjoyed traveling and took numerous cruises all over the world. Over the past two years, Nancy’s health was in decline. Even though she was in pain and not feeling well, if asked how she was doing her answer was always “good” or “fine.” The family would like to thank all of her family and friends for their support and endless companionship that she received.

A celebration of life will take place this summer. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The American Cancer Society or The Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America.
