Notice Of Mitigated Negative Declaration For The Hogan Dam Road ~ New Bridge Project.
San Andreas, CA...In compliance with Section 15072 of the California Environmental Quality Act Guidelines, notification is hereby given to responsible agencies, trustee agencies, interest groups and the general public that Calaveras County proposes to adopt a Mitigated Negative Declaration for the Hogan Dam Road over Bear Creek Low Water Crossing Conversion (New Bridge) Project.
The Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND) and supporting attachments are available for review by the general public at the offices of the Calaveras County Department of Public Works, 891 Mountain Ranch Road, San Andreas, CA 95249 and on the web at:

The proposed MND will undergo a 30-day public review period during which time comments will be received, starting Wednesday, February 15, 2017 and ending Friday, March 17, 2017. Comments responding to the adequacy and appropriateness of the MND should be sent to the County at the address below or submitted at the public meeting on March 2nd from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors Chambers.

Commenters wishing to appeal the decision to prepare an MND must specifically state this intention in their letter.
Project Location:
The Project is located along Hogan Dam Road, approximately 1.5 miles southeast of its intersection with Gann Road, 3.3 miles north of Hunt Road, and approximately 3.7 air miles southeast of the community of Rancho Calaveras in western Calaveras County, California.
Project Description:
Calaveras County Public Works Department, in conjunction with the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), intends to replace an existing low water crossing with a bridge on Hogan Dam Road at Bear Creek. Hogan Dam Road can become impassable due to seasonal high flows in Bear Creek resulting in a 20+ mile detour. The new bridge will provide an all-weather crossing of the creek and will accommodate the traveled way, shoulders, and barriers. Construction of the proposed bridge is planned to commence in spring 2018 or later. Project duration is expected to be one season, but could extend to two seasons due to regulatory limitations on work periods.
