WWII Vet Wilmer Delbert Koeppen Passes Away At 96

Arnold, CA...Our Pa, Wilmer Delbert Koeppen, passed away on January 4th, 2017 at the age of 96. He was born in Nebraska to a farming family. They moved to Idaho during the Dustbowl and Depression era. He was a World War II Veteran who was a gunner for the U.S. Navy. He delivered milk to homes for Borden’s many years in San Francisco. He also was a retired city worker for the city of South San Francisco where he was a printer. A resident of Arnold, he spent his spare time fishing, exploring the area, gathering wood and puttering around the house. He was most proud of his role as a father, grandfather and a great grandfather. When his grandchildren were young, he could always be found in the cheering section of their sports.

The last few years he loved nothing more than to spend time with the love of his life, great granddaughter, Victoria Rose Grimes. He was proceeded in death by his parents, wife Bernice, brothers Art, Ken and Louis, sisters Opal and Ruby and son-in-law Vince Grimes. He is survived by his sister Pearl Meyers, brother Jerry Koeppen, son Steven Peterson (Diane), son Gary Koeppen (Kathleen), daughter Kathy Grimes, grandchildren Jeff Peterson, Darcy Peterson, Kathy Koeppen, Vincent Grimes (liz), Josh Grimes (Grayson), Breanna Ribeira (Justin). Great granddaughters Victoria Rose Grimes who became the center of his universe and great granddaughter Mia. He will be dearly missed by all.
