Notice Of Public Hearing To Consider Public Transit Service Changes

Mountain Ranch, CA...NOTICE of PUBLIC HEARING Agency: Calaveras County Department of Public Works, 891 Mountain Ranch Road, San Andreas, CA 95249. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the County of Calaveras, as operator of Calaveras Transit, will conduct a public hearing on January 10, 2017, at 9 a.m. or soon thereafter to consider service changes to improve public transit in Calaveras County. The public hearing will be held in the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors Chambers, 891 Mountain Ranch Road, San Andreas. The proposed schedules may be viewed on-line at www.calaverastransit.comwww.calaverastransit.com or you may review or obtain copies of the material at the Calaveras County Department of Public Works 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday except County holidays.

Summary of proposed transit services on weekdays: A main route (Red Line) will run between La Contenta Plaza and Angels Camp 9 times daily, extending to Columbia College on 6 of those runs. The Blue Line will connect Angels Camp and Arnold 5 times daily and the Purple Line will run from Mountain Ranch to Jackson 4 times daily. The Copper Line will connect Angels Camp and Copperopolis 5 times daily with on demand service to some neighborhoods. The Green Line will serve West Point and San Andreas with 4 runs available on demand Mondays and Wednesdays. The Yellow Line will be an evening bus from San Andreas to West Point, available daily on demand.
Change in the route of the Saturday Hopper is proposed to add service to Arnold and reduce the number of runs to Valley Springs. Minor time changes are proposed for the Delta Gold Line schedule. The only proposed fare change is to increase the base fare of the Saturday Hopper from $2 to $3 and to enable use of monthly passes on Saturdays.
Service changes will go into effect no sooner than March 1, 2017.
