Make Family Memories At The Annual Pinecrest Lake Fish Fair

Pinecrest, CA...In conjunction with National Get Outdoors Day, the Forest Service invites the public to participate in a fish fair on the Stanislaus National Forest, June 11. Children up to 16-years of age (all are welcome to attend) are invited to compete for fun and awards at the annual Pinecrest Lake Fish Fair, Summit Ranger District.
This event provides members of the recreating public with a memorable day discovering the joys of fishing; helps to develop an appreciation for our National Forest lands; and is a great way for children to have fun, learn about nature and spend time with their families in the outdoors.

The Fish Fair includes humor and musical entertainment by Bill Roberson, many hands-on activities such as fishing, casting, t-shirt printing and other interactive stations. Special appearances will be made by Woodsy Owl, Smokey Bear, and Sammy & Frances Fish. Registered participants can fish for a prize, after visiting specific stations. A free hot dog lunch will be provided.

Festivities include:
7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. – Registration at the Pinecrest Amphitheater
8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. – Fishing and Casting Contests
9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. – Activities and Displays
11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – Lunch with Entertainment at Amphitheater
12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. – Presentation of Awards

The event is sponsored by the Stanislaus National Forest, Pinecrest Lake Resort, California Department of Fish and Game, Kiwanis Club of Sonora and the Stanislaus National Forest Employees Association.
The free Pinecrest Lake Fish Fair will be a memorable day for the entire family. Kids, bring a parent or responsible adult, fishing gear, and get ready to have lots of fun!
