Butte Fire Cleanup Now 85% Complete! 700 Properties Cleared of Burn Debris.

Mountain Ranch, CA...Completion of the Debris Removal Program is quickly approaching. The final deadline for enrollment is upon us. Anyone that has not signed is at risk of not being able to take advantage of this program and is urged to notify the Environmental Management Department at (209) 754-6399 or Butte Fire Recovery Information at (209)754-6824. Information on self-certification is available on the Calaveras County Website at: www.butte.calaverasgov.us

Debris removal is complete on 85% of participating properties. 29 crews
continue to make great progress working a seven day work week. All work is
expected to be completed in mid-March. Soil Samples have been approved on 443
properties and erosion control completed on 413 properties.

The Building Department continues to encourage residents to submit building
plans for review and complete a building permit application prior to completion of
the debris removal process.

Increased numbers and types of vehicles on county roads make driving conditions
hazardous for residents and workers. Drivers are cautioned to continue to be
vigilant.
