CodeRED Emergency Notification System to be Tested “All-Call” Set for February 2nd

San Andreas, CA...Calaveras County’s Emergency Notification System, CodeRED, will be tested Tuesday, February 2nd to validate landline telephone numbers in the database. These landline telephone numbers are primarily received from telephone companies that provide services to Calaveras County. The Caller ID will read “800-791-3749” and the message will say “This is an important message from Calaveras County. Today is Tuesday, February 2nd, 2016. We are performing a test of the County’s emergency notification system, CodeRED. Had this been an actual emergency, you would have received important information from Calaveras County officials. Again, this is only a test.”

This test process will increase the efficiency of the system and the speed in which notifications will be delivered when the system is used during an actual emergency.

The CodeRED system will be an important tool with Calaveras County emergency planning and
communications outreach to both citizens and County personnel by using the system capabilities to send telephone calls, text messages, emails and social media in an effort to effectively inform residents to protect life and property. The Public Safety agencies of Calaveras County will be using CodeRED to keep the public notified in the event of an emergency.

To learn more about CodeRED within Calaveras County and to register your contact information, please visit the County website at www.calaverasgov.us and click on the CodeRED logo. Details will be provided about the system and how the public can quickly enroll. No one should assume they are in the database. The County encourages residents and businesses of Calaveras County to enroll in the CodeRED system.
