Drug Overdose, AK47 & Tommy Gun Lead To Arrest
Sonora, CA...Early this morning at about 0230 hours, TCSO Deputies responded to a 911 hang up call at the Best Western Sonora Oaks Hotel on Hess Ave. The deputies arrived and discovered Gerald Lillard had possibly over dosed on methamphetamines. Chelsea Hylton, Lillard’s companion, was determined to be the person who had called 911. Hylton denied any drug use by Lillard. Lillard was able to tell the ambulance staff that he had taken amphetamines.
TCSO Deputies asked Hylton for permission to search for drugs since Lillard’s treatment would be determined on what he had ingested and Hylton gave consent. During the search of the hotel room, Hydrocodone pills, a large amount of methamphetamine, heroin, drug paraphernalia and an AK47 Assault Rifle were found. Some ammunition, an Auto Ordinance Thompson Sub Machine Gun “Tommy Gun,” with full auto label and a large amount of money in an envelope were found during a consent search of Hylton’s vehicle.
The guns and ammunition were booked as evidence and the drugs and related paraphernalia were booked for destruction. Hylton was booked into the Tuolumne County Jail for Possession or Transport of Machine Gun and Possession of an Assault Weapon. Hylton later posted the $60,000 bail and was released from custody.
Gerald Lillard is facing the possibility of charges to be filed at a later time.
