Domestic Animals During An Emergency
San Andreas, CA...If you evacuated with your dogs, cats or any other pets due to the fire, make sure you have the essentials with you, e.g. food, water and any medication that your pet might need. Documents showing ownership and/or most recent vaccinations are also very helpful. For more information on how to be prepared go to http://cads-team.org/
If you have nowhere to take your pet, you may take him or her to the Calaveras County Animal Shelter located at 901 Jeff Tuttle Road, San Andreas and then go to the American Red Cross Shelter. If your pet requires veterinary care, please go directly to your veterinary clinic. Animal Services does not have a veterinarian on staff.
The Fairgrounds at 2465 Gun Club Road in Angels Camp is available to you if you have small or large livestock. If you have large livestock or horses, please contact the Fairgrounds first at 209-736-2561
If you were evacuated and had to leave your animals behind, please contact Animal Services at 209-754-6509. We will do our best to retrieve your pets.
This will be a hot day – please do not leave your pet in the car. The temperature inside can reach deadly levels very quickly!
