25 Year Old Lodi Resident Arrested For Carjacking
Angels Camp, CA...On June 9, 2015 at approximately 1:40 PM officers from the Angels Camp Police Department were dispatched to the 200 block of South Main Street for a report of a male lying on the ground after a vehicle tried to run him over. The vehicle was reported to have left the area northbound on South Main Street...

Officers arrived on scene and determined that the vehicle was carjacked and the male on the ground was injured as he was trying to stop the man from driving away.
The Calaveras Sheriff’s Department and California Highway Patrol were notified to be on the lookout for the vehicle. The vehicle was later located driving north bound on Hwy 49 in San Andreas. The driver failed to yield to the emergency lights and sirens of the deputy that was behind him and continued to drive erratically and violate multiple traffic laws. The driver continued westbound on Hwy 12 to Wallace where he rolled the vehicle. The driver suffered minor injuries and was treated and released at a local hospital, then booked in to the Calaveras County Jail.
The driver was identified as 25 year old Lodi resident, Andrew Taormina. Taormina was booked at the Calaveras County Jail for the following charges:
215(a) PC – Carjacking
212.5(c) PC – Robbery
10851(a) VC – Vehicle Theft
245(a)(1) PC- Assault with a Deadly Weapon
2800.2 VC- Evading a Peace Officer
23104(a) VC- Reckless Driving with Injury
