Manslaughter Charges For Sunnyvale Woman In Fatal Accident. One Fatality & 4 With Major Injuries
Jamestown, CA...Brenda Barrera, 24 from Sunnyvale was charged with Felony DUI and Vehicular Manslaughter charges in yesterday's fatal accident on Hwy 120. She was driving a 2005 Mercedes C230 westbound on SR 120 at 10am east of La Grange Road at approximately 55 mph when she allowed her vehicle to cross the center line of the roadway and directly into the path of a 2005 Chevy Classic traveling eastbound. the driver of the Chevy Mr. Maxsimiano Aldana, 78 from Escalon sustained fatal injuries in the collision...
The driver of the Chevy had no time to take evasive action to avoid the collision. The Chevy spun and overturned coming to rest on the south roadway edge on it's roof. The 3 passengers of the Chevy were all transported to Doctors and Memorial Medical Centers by Life Flight and or ground ambulance. The passenger of the Mercedes was also Life Flighted to Doctors Medical Center.
Brenda Barrera was transported by ambulance to Sonora Regional Medical Center and treated for pain to left leg and right arm pain. Officer Scott observed signs and symptoms of intoxication from drugs and placed Barrera under arrest for Felony DUI and Vehicular Manslaughter and Barrera was booked into Tuolumne County Jail once release from SRMC for her injuries.
