Video Production Class Offered By Public Access TV

San Andreas, CA...A comprehensive 10-session video production class is being offered by Public Access TV of Calaveras County starting Tuesday, March 3. “The class is open to Calaveras County residents who are 14-years of age and older,” Station Manager Ed Lark said. The classes will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. over 10-consecutive Tuesdays and will be limited to 16 students on a first come, first-served basis. Former students may repeat the course. made by phoning 209-754-4021. The video production course will be held at the Public Access Television Studio located at 429 E. St Charles St. in San Andreas.

Class instruction will be conducted by Lark and will cover proper use of video and production equipment, properly shooting video and multi-camera shoots, sound, lighting techniques, creating working scripts, editing and legal aspects of video production.

Students are asked to bring a pen and note pad to the classes. “The first class is complimentary so students can determine whether the production class will meet their needs,” Lark said. “The registration fee for the TV production course is $25. Those desiring to complete the remaining nine classes are expected to bring $25 with them at the start of the second class. We accept cash and checks only. No credit cards. Those under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian register for them,” Lark continued.

Lark emphasized that at the completion of the course each student pledges to produce at least one half-hour program for broadcast over Public Access Television Channel 7. “There will be no charge for use of equipment and recording tape for these productions,” Lark added.
