Over $200,000 my family paid for the Road to NO WHERE! ~ Letter To The Editor By Kris Morris

Arnold, CA...We have been trying to subdivide our acreage into a three way split for years. Originally we were not required to do road improvements. Over time things changed. We ended up having to build a 34 foot wide road instead of the traditional 24 foot wide road. Why? Because someone had an agenda to put bike lanes down the dead end road. We were forced to give up a portion of our land and pay for this at our expense to complete the bike connector from Pine drive to Oak Circle at Cedar Center in Arnold....

This project cost our family over $250,000. The county should have paid for the bike lanes. They are not required in the standard road plans. The county kindly paid, for some pointless curbs for the Black Bear Inn side of the road with your tax money.

Why didn't we get help? Now we have a 34 foot road to nowhere, on a dead end road with a Path to Pine Drive. The person who decided we had to put bike lanes in should have thought of all the businesses that they just hurt financially.

The Beautiful Black Bear Inn has no parking for their events, now, there is no over flow parking for Susie's Diner, all the music events and car shows have no parking. This is going to be a massive loss of revenue for many. As the pictures show below they are parking in my encroachments and the bike lanes that are no parking zones now.

Cars illegally parked in bike lanes.

Also, please see the video below where we were at a Board of Supervisors meeting, asking” why I, should have to pay for the new infrastructure on Oak Circle?

I was interrupted in my speech by Supervisor Callaway and told, Because “we are going to let you pay for that”. As, the Supervisor laughed and thought that was funny. I will never forget it…….

38:35 minutes into the video you will see these statements being made.

The road and bike path are done! I PAID FOR IT!
I still have not received a final on the road improvements. Nor, has my final map been recorded.

Is this how our Supervisor helps us?
Kris and Debbie Morris Arnold, CA
