Michael Oliveira - Positive Choice ~ By Alice Montgomery

Arnold, CA...I am endorsing Michael Oliveira for District 3 Supervisor. As a mostly liberal, usually Democrat-voting, environmentalist who does not own a gun, I see this
former sheriff as the positive choice. There are four main reasons. He has the qualifications to revitalize our area while carefully preserving our beautiful Highway 4 corridor and other natural areas. As we’ve seen Murphys prosper and thrive under a different previous supervisor, for more than 15 years Arnold has endured supervised neglect. A well established Arnold resident, Oliveira has a specific and strategic plan that will bring positive, environmentally sensitive change and measured economic growth to our area....

Oliveira has experience in managing large scale public service budgets without
dipping into reserves. Calaveras County can do this without sacrificing key
services. He has a plan for a coherent, cooperative way to get the County onto a
more long term fiscally responsible path. He knows how to do this by working to
bring in appropriate, impactful businesses, zoning them properly, collaborating
with the Board, our citizens, and our hard-working County employees.

Oliveira is green enough. Because our outdoor recreational areas and trails are our
treasure, he already has volunteers ready to work with the valued existing groups
to better define and expand our multi-use trails, including our Rim Trail,
incorporating better maps, marking, and signage. He wants to add to and connect
these trails, making access more available for all our residents and visitors, ages 2
to 102. He has extensive experience in environmental, health, and safety. He
knows this effort will help to keep pedestrians and cyclists off of Highway 4 and
attract lucrative business from outdoor enthusiasts who crave more of these trails.

Last, there’s Michael Oliveira’s personal commitment to integrity and positivity.
Unfortunately the opponent’s group has been hurling inaccurate, unfounded
negativity his way. While she knows none of this stuff is true, her campaign
continues the false attacks. In the meantime, Michael will not “bite”, instead of
wasting his time responding, he is resolutely focused on the issues. If I knew
nothing else about these two candidates, his insistence on taking the high road,
would be enough of an indication to me that he has his eye on the ball and is the
positive, thoughtful choice. I choose Michael Oliveira for District 3 Supervisor. I
hope you will too.

Alice Montgomery
