Lucia Child, 1943 - 2014
On June 17th, Lucia Child passed from this world after a long and difficult illness. Lucia Maria Child, born and christened Lucia Castillo in Merced, California on September 3, 1943, to Ambrosio and Eugenia Castillo. She spent her childhood growing up in White Pines, California, and attended Bret Harte High School. She was the loving wife of 52 years to her husband Bruce, the loving mother to Shelley (Hank) Baxter of Angels Camp, California, and Bruce (Dixie) Child III of Aurora, Colorado, one grandson, Andrew, and two granddaughters, Andrea and Natalie. Lucia loved her family, loved taking care of little children, and was an avid gardener.
