A Note to the 2014 High School Graduates from the California Highway Patrol

Sonora, Ca...The California Highway Patrol would like to congratulate the graduates of 2014. We would like all graduates to please be safe in their activities after graduation and hope all would attend the Sober Grad parties. Few rites of passage are more heavily invested with the symbolism of hope than a high school graduation. Few accidental deaths are more tragic than those of buoyant young adults whose lives are stolen by alcohol or other drugs during that period of high triumph marking completion of a major educational challenge. Sober Graduation is a solution that has emerged as a community-wide venture to make the graduation period alcohol and drug free. If you aren't attending a Sober Grad event please ensure you don't drink and drive. You have a bright future ahead of you, with unlimited amounts of options to choose for your success.

The CHP wants you to be successful and responsible in your choices in life and today is a new beginning in making the right choices. Do not become another statistic by making the wrong choice. Have fun, please be safe, and again congratulations to the class of 2014.
