Feeney Park Had The Discs Flying For The Vibram Birdie Bash
Murphys, CA.....On April 27th Feeney Park was filled with team after team competing in a Vibram Birdie Bash. Gabe Bridges was the event coordinator and Vibram was the sponsor. 65 players pre-registered and played 2 rounds of 18 holes for various prizes. The winner was from Team Bear Valley, Jeff Brown, who scored 48 points. It was beautiful spring weather and the multi-use community park was full of players & supporters from all over. Folks came from Pleasanton, Modesto & Tuolumne County. Lots of families with young kids, fathers & sons playing and even a couple of gals competed. This weekend is "The Worlds Biggest Disc Golf Weekend" with events all over the world. Our area now has several courses all over our area including up in Bear Valley for some high altitude fun...

Team Bear Valley made a nice showing with their matching t-shirts, a truckload of snow and their own BBQ. It was great to see so many people enjoying the sport, one that anyone can play, is great exercise for the family and doesn't it cost much to get started. It's a growing sport and you don't have to go far to find a course to play.
The Vibram Birdie Bash (VBB)
The VBB is a fun day of disc golf. For $30, each player gets two Vibram discs, a shirt, towel and coaster mini. We then play two rounds of Birdie Bash where we only count Birdies or better. On a par 3, you get two throws. On a par 4, you get three throws. Birdies are worth two points, Aces/Eagles are worth five points, and hitting metal is worth one point. The VBB is great for both tournament players and beginners as it is competitive but has a low key, fun attitude. Tons of prizes that everyone has a chance to win. The VBB is also a great way to be a Tournament Director (TD). If you have TDed an event, you will love how easy we make it. If this is your first time TDing, the VBB’s Tournament-In-A-Box approach will make it very easy.
