Mother Lode Round-Up Queen Contestant: Sylvana Talamantes

Jamestown, CA... The Tuolumne County Sherriff's Posse has been sponsoring the Motherlode Round Up Queen's Contest for 37 years and the kickoff for 2014 was on a Sunday evening where the public was introduced to the six Queen Contestants for 2014. We will be featuring each of the Round Up Queen Contestants as we receive their pictures and bios! Our third Queen Contestant to be featured is Sylvana Talamantes who writes:
“Ever since I could remember, I always wanted to be Mother Lode Round-Up Queen. (more inside)

“As a teenager my mom went to this rodeo; when my mom and dad were dating they attended this outstanding rodeo and then one month after my birth I finally joined this family tradition! My family and I go on our traditional train ride and then head to one of the best rodeos around. I will continue this tradition one day with my family, not just attending the rodeo, but being able to say I had the honor and opportunity to represent this amazing rodeo!

I volunteer and working at the Cowslanding Veterinarian Clinic for five years. I trained my first horse at five and continued my passion from there on training horses for any discipline. I also give lessons on how to handle and ride horses. I love teaching and helping people learn about the biggest impact in my life, horses.”
Sylvana's Awards and/or Titles: 2006 CSHA Show of Champion, 2006 CSHA Region IV Champion, 2007 CSHA Region IV Champion, 2007 D’Alonzo Ranch Champion, 2008 Junior High Point Stanislaus County 4-H, 2010 Stanislaus County 4-H Benefit Western Junior Champion, 2010 Stanislaus County 4-H Benefit English Junior Champion, 2011 Stanislaus County 4-H Benefit English Senior Champion, 2011 Stanislaus County 4-H Benefit Gymkhana Senior Champion, and 2012 La Grange Rodeo Queen.
Sylvana and each contestant is responsible for selling 200 tickets and they will be looking for additional sponsors as well. Expect to see Sylvana and the others out and about their communities as they attempt to meet their goals.
