Traffic Update... Motorcycles Out of Control
Amador County, CA... CHP have released reports of two separate incidents where motorcycles were driven out of control by their riders. The first incident was on Hwy 88 West of Ham's Station on the 16th of August where Christopher Purfeerst of Pioneer, CA was struck from behind by a hit and run motorcyclist. The motorcycle rider attempted to pass on the wrong side striking and damaging Mr. Purfeerst's vehicle on the right side - this collision is still under investigation. The reports are enclosed...
The second incident occurred on Hwy 88 as well, just West of Toyon Road in Pinegrove, CA where Sandra Trevaskis was riding her Harley at about 50 mph when the traffic in front of her suddenly slowed. She was too riding too close and too fast when she lost control and ended up laying down her bike and slid to a stop on the North shoulder of Hwy 88.
