"Weekend Warrior Report"~by Andrea Silva

Let’s take a trip “Outside of the Box”…. since there are so many diverse happenings this weekend, it will not be hard to accomplish. With all of the negativity in the media and the stock markets continued decent we are all feeling a little bit blue. This is a good time for a mental break. Try one of these creative and outlandish adventures for a little emotional breather………..

SAVE

Dance Performance - Gather up the loose change from underneath your couch cushions and the bottom of your dryer then head on over to the new and ultra fabulous Madhatter’s Urban Tea House in downtown Sonora. There you will find a free special performance from 5pm – 7pm featuring Live Belly Dancers. Watch the mesmerizing hip swaying and tummy jiggling spectacle while you enjoy a cup of Blooming Tea or the fun loving Bubble Tea. This in not your generic coffee hang out, this place is packed full of original art, handcrafted jewelry, handmade aprons, quirky tea sets, loose-leaf teas, gourmet treats and various other intrigues. For more information visit http://www.myspace.com/madhattersteahouse.

Jazz Festival - Beatnik fashion is back and all the rage. Wine and Art - While it is hard to think about spring as we are having flash flood warnings and freak snowstorms the season is creeping up on us. Saturday Ironstone hosts it “Spring Obsession” a celebration of wine, art, food and daffodils. The artist who created the winning poster will be revealed at an artist reception on Saturday from 4pm-7pm but, the festivities will take place all day both Saturday and Sunday. Tickets $20 209-728-1251

SPLURGE
